Mormons Will Meet At Arena
Spokane’s Arena is expected to be jampacked Sunday with up to 10,000 people attending the Multistake Regional Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Some top church leaders will address the group, which comes primarily from Spokane, Sandpoint, Colville and Coeur d’Alene.
Elders Russell M. Nelson and Robert D. Hales are members of the Council of 12, which works directly with Gordon B. Henckley, president of the Mormon Church.
Also here will be Glenn L. Pace, a member of the group’s First Quorum of 70. Pace is administrator of the Pacific Northwest area.
These men and others will train area lay leaders on Saturday and conduct the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service at the Arena, which will include a 350-voice choir.
