Muster Reaches Semis

Top-seeded Thomas Muster, playing some of the best grass-court tennis of his career, rallied to beat Mark Woodforde 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 to reach the semifinals of the Queen’s Club tournament.

Also advancing were No. 2 Boris Becker, who reached his sixth Queen’s semifinal in 11 years by downing Australia’s Patrick Rafter 7-5, 6-4, and No. 14 Stefan Edberg, who defeated American Todd Martin 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.

In the other quarterfinal match, No. 4 Wayne Ferreira defeated French Open runner-up Michael Stich of Germany 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

In today’s semifinals, Edberg faces Muster and Becker meets Ferreira.
