Prairie Sweeps Pair From L-C
Prairie swept an American Legion baseball doubleheader from Lewis-Clark on Tuesday, winning 7-5 and 10-3.
In the first game, Kurt Reese (3-0) pitched seven strong innings, allowing four runs and striking out seven.
Al Bevacqua had four hits, scored two runs and hit a two-run double in Prairie’s four-run sixth inning.
Jake Medlock (2-0) pitched well for Prairie in the second game, allowing three runs before being replaced in the seventh inning.
With two outs in the sixth, he struck out Jeremy Frei to end a bases-loaded threat.
In the bottom of the sixth, James Ownbey’s two-run double keyed a six-run rally.
Kevin Bridge had three hits and batted in two runs for Prairie, which is 12-3.
