University of Miami football star Jammi German has been arrested in the beating of Maxwell Voce, a Miami track athlete, who supposedly said the receiver was gay. … Ardie McInelly, for the last four years an assistant at Weber State, was named women’s head basketball coach at Idaho State University. Former ISU basketball star Steve Hayes was the women’s coach last year but returned to his full-time position raising funds for the school. … The Los Angeles Kings acquired goaltender Stephane Fiset from Colorado for left wing Eric Lacroix, the son of Avalanche general manager Pierre Lacroix. In addition, the teams swapped first-round picks in 1998.
