Celebrate Independence Day early by getting out and hiking the snow-free Fourth of July Trail. It offers breathtaking views of the Icicle Valley and the surrounding Alpine Lakes Wilderness peaks. It beats a smoky fireworks display any day.

Mount Aix Trail is snow-free and this is a great time to explore this trail. By August the route is roasted in the late-summer sun and the ridge leading to the summit is bare and dry. Carry and use your sunscreen on this hike. xxxx
