Key to the game: Senior guard Jeff Hayden scored eight points, including two 3-pointers, as the Ducks (24-2) opened the second half with an 18-6 run to secure a double-digit lead.
Other highlights: Hayden, Kevin Grabenhorst and Dameion Bryan all hit three 3-pointers for the Ducks, who made 11 of 30 attempts beyond the line… . Grabenhorst scored 19 to give him 153 for his state career… . Senior forward Brandon Banks scored 22 for the eliminated Cardinals (16-10) on 11-of-17 shooting. Banks, who also had 18 rebounds, averaged 26 points at the tourney.

Key to the game: Senior guard Doug Sims of the Invaders (18-8) scored the points that counted: a pair of 3-pointers during an 11-0 first-quarter run; six consecutive second-quarter points after the Vikings (16-10) pulled within five points; and three free throws in the final 23 seconds to seal the win.
Other highlights: Sims hit 7 of 9 free throws and teammate Bill Wilder, a 6-foot-3 junior, made 9 of 11 as Summit finished 19 of 27 from the line. Orcas made just 1 of 5 free throws. … Sean Roach, the Vikings’ 6-6 senior, left in style, making 7 of 13 field goals, hauling in 15 rebounds and blocking five shots.

Key to the game: Senior guard Mike Rolfzen scored eight points in the final 4:24 of the first half and the Crusaders (21-7) held NWC (17-12) scoreless for the last 5:37 of the half to break from a 15-all tie and establish a lead in double figures.
Other highlights: Tac-Bap was too strong inside and outside, as 5-10 senior guard Aaron Shamp made four 3-pointers and scored 20 while 6-8 junior center Adrian Russell made 8 of 12 field goals, blocked seven shots and added 10 rebounds… . Sophomore Brandon West hit all three of NWC’s 3’s and junior Andy Crouch had eight rebounds.

Key to the game: Lupe Maldanado’s 3-pointer late in the third quarter gave Mabton (17-9) its only points in nearly 12 minutes during a 17-3 streak by the Braves (18-9).
Other highlights: La Conner senior forward T.J. Sophusson made 8 of 10 field goals and added 12 rebounds and four steals… . Sophomore Dane Lundberg hit 6 of 7 free throws as the Braves outscored Mabton 15-4 at the line… . Senior guard Maldanado had a subpar shooting night, making three 3-pointers but missing 12 other shots from the floor.

Key to the game: The Bruins (23-4) had no trouble with the press except for a brief stretch at the end when the Coyotes (17-7) slapped it on out of desperation.
Other highlights: “Nobody has pressed us all year and hurt us because (Jamal) McGimpsey, (Thomas) Sawyer and (Fran) Michelena can handle the ball,” CB coach John Wilson said… . There were four ties and seven lead changes in the first half… . Travis Flippins came off the bench cold late in the game and hit a 3 and two drives to keep the Coyotes in the game.

Key to the game: The Dragons (26-2) hung in on the boards against the taller Hyaks (23-5), losing that battle just 30-26 and hit 7 of 12 shots in the fourth quarter after making just 15 of 39 through three.
Other highlights: Before St. George’s won it with a 10-0 run in the last 2 minutes, it appeared the NB hero would be sophomore Marty Carlson. He broke his ankle playing basketball in a PE class early in the season and played JV when he came back. After not scoring during the regular season, he fired in 11 points with a 4-for-4 effort from the field… . Cat-quick St. George’s point guard Meng Tseng had five steals and caused numerous turnovers as his hawking defense made it hard for NB to set up its half-court offense.

Cameron Carstensen of the Warriors gave ACH its final lead with a banker forced over three defenders with 41 seconds left.
