Dermatologists Offering Advice On Skin Cancer

“Skin Cancer - Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment” will be discussed by Dr. Joel Sears, a dermatologist, and Dr. Steven Dixon, a dermatopathologist, from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at the Spokane Ag Trade Center.

Topics will cover all types of skin cancer, what they look like, how to detect them and why some people are more prone to developing skin cancers.

Prevention and treatment will also be discussed.

Health care for ABC

“The Health Care Environment” will be discussed by Betty Woods, president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska, at the Academic Business Community breakfast meeting on Tuesday.

The 7:30 a.m. event will be in the Skyline Ballroom at Cavanaugh’s Inn at the Park.

Woods, president and CEO of PREMERA, is the first woman in the nation to lead a Blue Cross/Blue Shield organization.
