Asu Recruits Arrested
Three male basketball recruits at Arizona State have been arrested in the alleged sexual and physical assault of a female student and another woman.
Lannie Standridge, campus police chief, said one woman told authorities she was raped and the other was “physically mishandled” in the dormitory room of one of the three athletes - Tommie Prince, Rico Harris and George Gervin, all 18.
The athletes were recruited for basketball but failed to qualify academically. Gervin is the son of NBA Hall of Famer George Gervin.
The women, also 18, told authorities the athletes threatened them with a gun. Campus police obtained a search warrant and confiscated a BB gun in the room where the attacks allegedly occurred.
