Two Separate Fights Break Out At Tavern
Two fights broke out late Friday at the Swamp Tavern, 1904 W. 5th Ave.
Just before midnight, two drunk women came inside and tried to pick fights with several customers, police said.
One of the women pulled a knife but was disarmed by patrons and the bartender after one customer suffered a minor cut.
Both women were escorted outside and left.
A half hour later, police got another call that one of the women’s boyfriends was in the tavern waving a baseball bat and threatening the bartender.
Again, customers took the weapon and held Mark B. Strawbridge, 27, of the 1600 block of West Main, until police arrived.
Police confiscated the bat, a loaded 9mm handgun and a knife and charged Strawbridge with attempted first-degree assault. , DataTimes
