TV Host Wants Intriguing Jobs

From Wire Reports

“CBS This Morning’s” Harry Smith is looking for work.

No, CBS hasn’t cut the morning man loose. He’s just looking for interesting jobs for his program’s second annual “Hey Harry, Do My Job!” weeklong feature.

Viewers can invite Smith to take on their daily tasks by sending in postcards with their name, address, phone number, a description of the job and why they think Smith should do it, to: Hey Harry, Do My Job!, “CBS This Morning, 524 W. 57th St., New York, NY 10019.

Entries must be postmarked by March 20.

This will almost certainly be the last time Smith travels the country as part of “CBS This Morning.” The network is expected to overhaul the ratings-challenged morning show. That likely means a reassignment for either, or both, Smith and his co-host, Paula Zahn.

Danson series in works

Ted Danson is returning to series TV, but he’s not going to NBC. At the eleventh hour, CBS has bagged DreamWorks SKG’s Danson vehicle for next season, which was expected to mark Danson’s return to his old “Cheers” home.

CBS has ordered “significantly more” than 22 episodes of the project, sources said. Danson’s wife, Mary Steenburgen, will also star in DreamWorks’ romantic comedy about a divorced couple who are both reporters at a newspaper. Through a series of events in the pilot, she ends up his boss.
