Picabo Street, star of the U.S. women’s ski team, hit a gate during an exhibition race in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, and suffered head, neck and back injuries. Earlier, she won the super-G in the U.S. Alpine Championships at Sugarloaf-USA. She did not know if she would compete today in the slalom. Sherick Simpson scored 24 as Fort Hays (Kan.) State completed a 34-0 season with a 70-63 victory over Northern Kentucky in the NCAA Division II men’s basketball championship game in Louisville, Ky.

Stanford won its fifth straight NCAA women’s swimming championship in Ann Arbor, Mich.
