Dear Heloise: Here is a helpful hint! Baby monitors aren’t just for baby. After our grandson was born, they bought a set of baby monitors, one for the baby’s room and one for their room.

Adjacent to my home, I have a utilities room where I store our lawn mower, tools, rakes and garden tiller. Where our bedroom is you can’t hear anything or anyone on that side of the house. That door has been broken into two times.

Now I have a baby monitor in the utility room and the other part of it sits on my night stand. If I hear anything, all I have to do is call 911. Hope this helps others. - K.H., Little Rock, Ark.
