Participants Sought For Kellogg Festivities
Silver Valley organizers of a community celebration of demolition of the Bunker Hill mine and smelter smokestacks are looking for other groups to take part.
“We want people to have things to do when they come to Kellogg,” said Linny Byrd, a member of the Blowing Our Stacks committee.
The group is organizing a community carnival in Kellogg during the May 26 destruction of the smokestacks.
The group hopes to attract non-profit groups, service clubs, artists, crafts-makers and concessionaires. Carnival spaces are available on a sliding-fee scale and are free to non-profit groups, Byrd said.
The Blowing Our Stacks committee is selling $2 raffle tickets, with two winners getting to start the chain of events for the demolition.
Any groups interested in participating in the celebration can call Byrd at (208) 786-1240. , DataTimes
