Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I remember reading in an article that you can make dusting powder at home using your favorite cologne.

Can you please tell me how to do these. Thank you in advance. - Josephine M., Karnes City, Texas

Here is the way a Canadian reader makes homemade dusting powder and saves lots of money:

You can make your own dusting powder inexpensively and easily. Just put some corn starch in a clean container (a plastic margarine tub is dandy), add a couple of squirts of your favorite cologne if you like, stir gently with a spoon, put on the lid and you’ll have great dusting powder! I keep a powder puff in the container also.

Remember how well corn starch worked on little chafed baby bottoms? Well, this is particularly good for the under-the-bra area for us grownups.

I love your newspaper column! - A Canadian friend
