Seattle Fire Burns Old Brick Building
A three-alarm fire gutted the top two floors of an old brick building near the downtown waterfront early Saturday.
Flames were shooting from the top two floors of the five-story Polson Building when firefighters arrived about 4 a.m., said Georgia Taylor, a Fire Department spokeswoman.
Five or six people were in the building when the fire started, but all escaped and no injuries were reported, she said.
A sprinkler system below the fourth floor limited fire damage to the fourth and fifth floors.
