A treasure hunter trying to saw open a World War II-era bomb to see what was inside it was killed Thursday when the bomb exploded.

The blast tore Toto Parcon’s body to pieces. His elder brother and another man were injured.

Police said the unexploded bomb may have been dropped by an Allied warplane during World War II.

Parcon and his companions had dug up the bomb outside Davao City, 600 miles southeast of Manila.
