Carl Flach Jr. Diamond Lake, Wash.

Graveside inurnment service for Carl Statler Flach Jr., 76, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Newport (Wash.) Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Flach, who died Wednesday at home, was born in Eureka, Mont.

In 1928 he moved to Newport with his family and graduated from Newport High School.

He was drafted into the Army in 1941 and served with the 83rd Infantry 44th Division. He received a Purple Heart.

After his discharge from the Army, he graduated from Kinman Business College in Spokane with an accounting degree. He worked for Morrison-Knutson for two years, and then worked as a mail sorter for the Postal Service in Spokane for five years.

In 1964 he married Merle Glover, in Spokane.

Mr. Flach was a member of the United Church of Christ in Newport, the Disabled American Veterans and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

He is survived by his wife.

Marie Campbell Spokane

Private service for E. Marie Campbell, 73, was Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Entombment was at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Cambpell, who was born in Post Falls, died Tuesday.

She graduated from Post Falls High School.

She had lived in Spokane for 55 years and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Iris Society and the Spokane Dog Training Club.

Her first husband of 37 years, Robert Menge, died in 1978.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Douglas Campbell; one son, Dick Menge of Puyallup, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Frank Snyder Spokane

Graveside service for Frank Snyder, 88, is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Snyder, a 55-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday. He was born in Mount Carmel, Tenn.

He served in the Army during World War II, and later worked as a powder man in heavy construction.

Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eva Snyder; two sons, Howard and Jack Deerheim, both of Spokane; one daughter, Matilda McCord of Port Angeles, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Roland Watts Colfax, Wash.

Memorial service for former Colfax Police Chief Roland Watts, 64, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Community Bible Church. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Watts, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.

He became a reserve deputy for the Bonner County Sheriff’s Department in 1953 and later served as a patrolman in Nevada and in College Place, Wash., and as assistant chief of police in Petersburg, Alaska, and Dayton, Wash.

He became the chief of police in Colfax in 1971 and retired in 1985.

Mr. Watts also served on the Colfax City Council and was a member of the Community Bible Church, Colfax Elks Lodge and Washington State Peace Officers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; one daughter, Vickie Cook, and one son, Steve Watts, both of Colfax; two brothers, Art Watts of Spokane and Albert “Chief” Watts of Walla Walla; and five grandchildren.
