Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: This is for the other folks like myself who don’t yet own a cake dish with a cover.

I save the little three-legged gadgets (I don’t know what they are called) that come with home-delivered pizza to prevent the box lid and pizza topping from sticking together. I use them on cakes to keep the plastic or foil wrap from sticking to the icing. It’s inexpensive and effective.

I plan to spend less money on pizza and purchase a cake dish complete with a lid. - Richard Muttersbach, Portland

Dear Heloise: For healthier eating, remove the skin from chicken pieces by grasping the skin with a paper towel and pulling. It comes off easily and cleanly. - Fern Mayo, Farmington, Ark.
