Man Dismantling Shell Is Killed

Compiled From Wire Services

A man was killed when a WWII artillery shell he was trying to dismantle exploded in his hands, a news report said.

His three companions were injured when the shell exploded late Wednesday in a garage in Voronezh, 300 miles south of Moscow, the ITAR-Tass news agency said.

The report identified the man only by his last name, Kazubov, and said he was a 33-year-old driver for the local governor’s office.

Kazubov apparently was trying to get TNT out of the shell, local officials said.
