Time Is Right For Emmy-Winning Barker

“The Price Is Right” host Bob Barker continued his string of Daytime Emmy wins for best game show host, while Julia Child took a trophy for service show host at the 23rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Awards in 43 categories were presented Saturday night in ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York and the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

The remaining categories, including daytime drama performances, will be announced at a Wednesday ceremony televised by CBS.

Child won for her PBS series “In Julia’s Kitchen With Master Chefs.” The series also won in the outstanding service show category.

Barker has won 10 previous times in the game show host category.

Broadway star Nathan Lane won an Emmy for outstanding performer in animated program for his work in Disney’s “The Lion King’s Timon and Pumbaa” that airs on CBS and in syndication.

Saturday’s awards put CBS in the lead for the most Daytime Emmys with 12. PBS captured eight trophies, and ABC seven.
