Abc May Move ‘Ellen’ To 9:30

One more piece in the is-“Ellen”-a-lesbian puzzle may fall into place shortly, if speculation about an ABC schedule shakeup proves true.

ABC is said to be considering rearranging its Wednesday lineup.

Under the scenario outlined recently in The Hollywood Reporter, a trade paper, “Grace Under Fire” would air at 8 p.m. and “Drew Carey” at 9.

“Ellen” would slide into the 9:30 slot.

Word surfaced earlier this season that show producers, led by series star Ellen Degeneres, were considering having the lead character declare she’s a lesbian.

By moving “Ellen” to 9:30, when kiddies presumably are in bed, series producers would be more free to tackle the issue of the lead character’s sexuality.
