Atf Investigating Bomb That Killed Tucson Developer Who Had Gambling Ties
Federal investigators say they will try to construct a model of the car bomb that killed a real estate developer in a country club parking lot.
“This was a fairly significant blast, one of the worst I’ve seen,” said Steve Ott, a federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms supervisor.
Though the local sheriff said Friday evening’s blast looked like a professional hit, Ott was reluctant to describe it that way.
Gary Lee Triano, 52 - who had ties to local gambling operations and reportedly was trying to launch casinos abroad - stepped into the 1989 Lincoln Town Car seconds before it exploded at the La Paloma Country Club.
