‘Macarena’ Among Biggest Singles Ever

Dance-craze record “Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)” by Los Del Rio has become one of the biggest-selling singles in pop music history at 4 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. In less than a year, the single has tied such breakaway hits as Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and USA for Africa’s “We Are the World.” Unlike its competition, “Macarena” continues to fly out the door as the craze seems to have no end. It will likely end up as the top RIAA single of all time.
