Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: I am 93 years old and have to be taken to the doctor from time to time. On my last trip there was much snow on the ground. My driver had a carpet runner, which she spread over the snowbank on our curb. I walked up and down to the car. When we returned, again I walked on the carpet to the sidewalk. I call it the “magic” carpet. I now have one of my own, which my family uses when taking me out. - Doris Rummlor, Philadelphia
Dear Heloise: This idea might be helpful for owners of sports vehicles. When my wife and I went grocery shopping and put the bags of groceries in the back, they would usually fall over and spill. I came up with the idea of buying some inexpensive rubber-backed car floor mats and turning them upside down. The groceries are now secure resting on rubber teeth. - Kenneth Keir, Spencerport, N.Y. xxxx
