Twin Falls Lands Plastic Flatware Plant

Clear Shield National Inc. has announced plans to build a $13 million southern Idaho plant to manufacture disposable plastic flatware, straws and disposable dining kits.

The Wheeling, Ill.-based subsidiary of Envirodyne Industries Inc. said Wednesday that it hopes to employ 140 to 150 people at the Twin Falls plant within three years.

Clear Shield President Denis Davidson said the company could break ground by spring and start manufacturing by the first quarter of 1998. The Twin Falls plant will be the company’s fifth.
