Ucla Apparently Loses Recruits

Compiled From Wire Services

UCLA apparently has lost at least two recruits in the aftermath of the Jim Harrick firing, but the Bruins have not yet lost their jewel.

Harvard-Westlake’s Jason and Jarron Collins are expected to sign with Arizona when the early signing period begins Wednesday, according to a source close to the situation.

“It’s a compromise choice,” said the source, adding that if Harrick were still coaching “they’d definitely be going to UCLA.”

Jarron Collins and Harvard-Westlake coach Greg Hilliard insisted that no decision has been made.

Santa Monica Crossroads point guard Baron Davis said that he has not eliminated the Bruins and will sign with UCLA if interim coach Steve Lavin is made the fulltime coach. Davis will probably wait until the spring to sign.
