Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: We have many bake sales in our small community. So many times pies are donated and there isn’t a clue as to what kind they are. I save the little white platforms used to prevent the box top from touching the pizza, as they can be used so nicely for the pies. A picture of fruit, if that applies, or the name of the pie can be written on the platform. - Dorothy Berg, Arkport, N.Y.

Helpful hints when shopping for a winter coat:

Make sure there is room for bulky clothing underneath, like a sweater or jacket.

Check all seams, making sure they are secure and aligned correctly.

If there is a lining, make sure it hangs evenly.

Try the coat on and fasten it. Reach high and out, bend over and sit down. You should be able to do all these things when the coat fits properly. - Heloise
