Agrium To Increase Stores In Argentina

Agrium Inc., a fertilizer company that keeps its North American western wholesale office in Spokane, said Wednesday that it plans next year to increase its retail stores in Argentina to 18.

The Calgary-based company said it will spend $19 million to open the stores, which will supply fertilizer and other agricultural products to Argentina farmers.

Agrium in 1995 opened 10 stores in Argentina as part of its expansion into the South American nation. It invested more than $10 million on the venture at that time.
