Robert Richins Receives Distinguished Service Award
Robert T. Richins, a top executive of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp., and Coeur vice president of environmental and government affairs/environmental policy and compliance, has been selected for the 1997 Environmental Conservation Distinguished Service Award by the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (AIME).
Richins was cited for dedication to environmental stewardship and conservation and his advancement of ecological and regulatory issues affecting the mining industry.
The award, which was established in 1970, recognizes significant contributions to the environmental conservation field through innovation and/or service.
James T. Crandall, a 1995 graduate of Lakeland High School, has enlisted in the Army as an early warning system operator and recently left for basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo.
Crandall, son of Dallas and Cheryl Crandall of Rathdrum, has enrolled in the G.I. Bill for up to $15,403 toward full-time schooling and joined the Army for travel, adventure and money for college.
Jeffrey N. Clark, a 1996 graduate of Lakeland High School, has enlisted in the Army Infantry and recently left for basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo.
Clark, son of John and Terry Clark of Rathdrum, qualifies for up to $30,000 under the Army College Fund program due to his test scores and enlistment choice.
Roger A. Privratsky, Coeur d’Alene, has enlisted in the Army as a food service specialist and recently departed for basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo.
Privratsky, who joined the Army for experience, skill training and money for college, has enrolled in the loan repayment program that qualifies him for one-third or $1,500 loan indebtedness (whichever is higher), up to $55,000, for each year of service.
Benjamin J. Carter, a 1996 graduate of Coeur d’Alene High school, has enlisted in the Army as a unit supply specialist and recently departed for basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
Carter, son of Don Carter of Coeur d’Alene, and Carol Carter of North Dakota, qualifies for a $2,000 cash incentive and has enrolled in the G.I. Bill for up to $15,403 toward full-time schooling due to his enlistment choice and test scores.
