Albert Marks Spokane
Service for Albert G. Marks, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
Born in Belvedere, S.D., Mr. Marks died Monday.
He had lived in Spokane for 45 years and was a sales manager in the business machine industry. He worked for S.C.M. Corp. for 60 years.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis Marks of Kennewick and Kevin Marks of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Gregory Carlson Colbert
Visitation for Gregory Wayne Carlson, 29, is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Colbert Chapel. Burial will be at Peone Cemetery.
Mr. Carlson died Monday near Yakima when a tree snapped and crashed into the recreational vehicle he was sleeping in.
He was born in Tacoma and was a longtime Spokane area resident.
He graduated from Mead High School and attended Spokane Community College, where he was student body vice president.
Mr. Carlson worked with Vocational Industrial Clubs of America and participated in national competitions.
He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and was employed by Williams Equipment. He had also worked for Spilker Masonry, Perfection Builders and Rollins Leasing.
He was a member of the Colbert Chapel and was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician with Fire District 4, Station 4, in Colbert.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Debbie Carlson, two children, Cassie and Erik Carlson, both at home; his parents, David and Doris Carlson of Colbert; three brothers, Wayne Carlson of Colbert, Randy Carlson of Spokane and Scott Carlson of Deer Park; his grandfather, Robert Carlson of Spokane; and his grandmother, Kathryn Wendt of Virginia.
Mary Bosworth Spokane
Graveside service for Mary P. Bosworth will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bosworth, 85, died Tuesday.
She was born in Greenwood, British Columbia, and had lived in Spokane from 1923 to 1972. She moved away and returned to Spokane in 1989.
She was a hotel owner.
Her husband, Hubert Bosworth, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, George Tolar of Port Orchard, Wash.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lloyd Tharp Moscow, Idaho
Service for Lloyd E. Tharp, 71, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Church of the Nazarene in Moscow. Burial will follow at Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch, Idaho. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tharp, who died Tuesday, was born in Potlatch.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served aboard the USS Ajax in the Pacific during World War II. He was discharged in 1946.
He worked for Potlatch Forests Inc. at the Potlatch Mill for 10 years and briefly worked on the construction of the Ice Harbor Dam on the Snake River.
He married Bernice Blake in 1957 in Pullman.
The couple lived in Moscow and Mr. Tharp worked as a cement finisher for John Milton Construction until 1978. He also worked for Valley Cement Co. and Palouse Asphalt Paving Co. and retired from Poe Asphalt Paving Co. in 1987.
He was a member of Laborers Union Local No. 238 in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, David Burkhart of Salem, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Jackie Vestal of Spokane; two brothers, Gilbert Tharp of Pasco and Jerald Tharp of Puyallup, Wash.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
