Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Place all warranties, directions and dates purchased for small and large appliances like the dishwasher, furnace, washing machine, dryer and toaster in a three-ring notebook. Include names and phone numbers of repair people. You will never have to waste time looking for them. - Mornen Jobb, Veradale

Dear Heloise: Storing opened cottage cheese in a closed container upside down in the refrigerator keeps it from going bad so quickly. - J. Gonzales, Seneca Falls, N.Y.

Dear readers: To make the holidays easier, I have written two great pamphlets. One is on holiday hints and the other is a compilation of holiday recipes, which includes my fast shrimp spread.

For a copy of each pamphlet, send $4 and a long, self-addressed, stamped (78 cents) envelope to: Heloise/H&R, PO Box 795001, San Antonio TX 78279-5001. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: Our Christmas tree last year was 9 feet tall. Getting tinsel to the top was quite difficult. My son, Jay, had a terrific idea - blow the tinsel in place! Just hold the tinsel in front of a hand-held dryer, point the dryer where you want the tinsel to go, turn on the dryer and let the tinsel fly. Works great! - Linda Newell, New Orleans, La.
