Crews Make Progress On Forest Fire
An 80-acre blaze in the Wenatchee National Forest is about 50 percent contained and should be completely encircled by Friday, Forest Service offices reported Wednesday.
The Myrtle Fire is about a mile southwest of Myrtle Lake. There are 100 firefighters on the scene. Forest Service spokeswoman Marti Ames said smoke and haze cleared around the fire Wednesday, allowing firefighters a better look.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
