Oregon Tailback Out Five Weeks
Oregon tailback Jerry Brown will be sidelined for about five weeks after he broke his left hand at practice, coach Mike Bellotti said.
Brown started two of the first five games for the Ducks and was the second-leading rusher with 151 yards and one touchdown.
The redshirt freshman from Woodland Hills, Calif., had 97 yards against Nevada.
The Tuesday injury leaves redshirt freshman Derien Latimer as the lone healthy tailback heading into Oregon’s Saturday night Pac-10 home opener against UCLA.
