Justices Won’t Hear Appeal By Killer
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused, without comment, to hear the appeal of convicted killer David Lewis Rice.
Rice was sentenced to death for the 1985 Christmas Eve murders of Seattle lawyer Charles Goldmark, his wife, and their two children.
Rice had appealed a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision to reinstate his death sentence, which had been set aside by a federal judge in Tacoma because Rice was not present when the jury returned the sentence in June 1986.
