Candidate Cleans Up At Fund-Raiser
If all political congressional candidates raised money for their campaigns the same way as Chris Peterson, there’s no telling what might come out of the closet.
Peterson, a candidate for the state Legislature, held a garage sale at her Grand Island home this weekend to finance her campaign.
She has refused to accept money from special interest groups, instead raising whatever she can from stuffed animals, exercise tapes and old purses.
Peterson hoped to raise about $200 from the sale. Also, “It was a good excuse to get into my closets and clean them out,” she said.
