Laclede Man Killed In Three-Car Crash
A LaClede, Idaho, man was killed in a three-car accident Monday on U.S. Highway 2 north of Chattaroy.
Jacob Johnson, 63, died at the scene of massive internal injuries, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Kevin Horn, 18, of Spokane was driving south on the highway near Apex Road at 4:45 p.m. when he lost control of his 1985 Dodge pickup, according to the State Patrol.
The truck veered into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with Johnson’s 1990 Chevrolet pickup.
Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol said.
Horn and his passenger, Jeff Gibson, 23, of Nine Mile Falls, were treated and released.
The driver of the third car, 46-year-old Walter Rail of Priest River, Idaho, was hit when Johnson’s truck slammed into his car. Rail was treated and released.
