Newest Kennedy Hits One Hefty Marital Lottery

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Everyone has speculated, but only a London tabloid had the nerve, if that’s the correct word, to print details of the ostensible pre-nuptial agreement between newlyweds John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.

According to Sunday’s Daily Mail, the agreement guarantees Bessette-Kennedy at least $1 million should they divorce within the next three years.

According to The Mail, the agreement involves a sliding-scale of payments that grow with time. It was supposedly drafted just 12 days before the Sept. 21 ceremony.

Kennedy’s advisers insisted on the agreement to avoid divorce laws in California, where the couple is said to be house hunting. Kennedy’s fortune is estimated at $32.7 million.

Loose talk

Rocker/actress Courtney Love on her dual careers (in Newsweek magazine): “Every actor I’ve ever met wants to be a musician, but every musician I know is really glad that they’re a musician. I like my job.”

She’s planning on having a lot of Fonzie

Penny Marshall turns 54 today.

Can you say ‘contradiction of terms’?

All you “Baywatch” fans should take note: Yasmine Bleeth is ending her beach-side stay. “I’ve had three years of stable,” Bleeth told TV Guide. “Now let’s go unstable and go with the wind a little bit.” Bleeth will star in an upcoming made-for-TV movie titled “Talk to Me” in which she plays “a naive talk-show producer with a conscience.”

If they did, we’d never have heard of Gennifer Flowers

In his movie, “Absolute Power,” Clint Eastwood plays a burglar who uncovers a murderous affair involving the president. “Of course, we know presidents don’t do those things,” Eastwood told the Los Angeles Times. “But hey, you have to take a little license. It’s just a movie.”

Why not Merle Haggard’s ‘Okie from Muskogee’?

Bob Dole now has a song that he can call his own. Eddie Rabbit (remember him?) has offered the Republican presidential candidate use of his song “American Boy.” “He said, ‘I’m really a big fan and I really enjoy your music and I really like your song,”’ Rabbitt said Friday. “I said, ‘With my pleasure, you can use my song.”’

She isn’t an immortal, she just acts like one

On her television show “Xena, Warrior Princess,” Lucy Lawless seems invincible. But the 28-year-old actress proved to be a mere mortal while taping a skit Tuesday for the “Tonight” show. Her horse lost its footing, and Lawless was thrown to the pavement, breaking her pelvis.

As a rule, jail’s not cool so don’t be a fool

After serving 180 days in jail for probation violation, gangsta rapper Dr. Dre is changing his ways. “From this point on I intend to make my life as B.S.-proof as possible,” the rapper told the Los Angeles Times. “As far as my past image goes, man, I’ve been there, done that. Art is what matters. Art and taking care of business.”
