Before Long, He Could Be Sweating To The Orderlies
Call him dumpy. Call him ditzy. But one of these days, you might find yourself calling him Dr. Richard Simmons.
In his book, “Farewell to Fat,” the fitness guru complained that conventional doctors don’t pay enough attention to nutrition and the nation’s obesity epidemic.
And following a guest appearance on television’s “General Hospital” this week, Simmons said he plans to begin pre-med courses in January.
“I’m still teaching,” Simmons said. “I’m still writing another book. I’m still going to shopping malls. I’m still calling 50 people a day. But I want to be a doctor, and I think I can help.”
And besides, he says, “I look good in white.”
Loose talk
Eunice Simpson, on her son O.J.’s way with the ladies (in an unaired 1994 interview described in the new book “American Tragedy: The Uncensored Story of the Simpson Defense”): “Women didn’t care if he was Jack the Ripper!” Guess she’s getting too old for those Mindy skirts
Pam Dawber turns 45 today.
It’s a workout program for the entire family
And speaking of Simmons, it sounds like he could have some competition on the fitness front. According to The Weekly World News, convicted killer Charles Manson is working on an exercise video of his own, including one manuever called The Solitary Stretch.
If his pants do not fit, then you must acquit
O.J. Simpson, on the other hand, has packed on a reported 30 pounds as he faces a a wrongful-death civil trial in the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Sources say The Juice supposedly wants the jury to look at him at think: “This man’s no killing machine; he’s just a jolly roly-poly guy.”
Her wardrobe will be nothing but the truth
The late Mrs. Simpson’s friend, Faye Resnick, whose book described Nicole’s allegedly abusive relationship with O.J., is negotiating to pose in Playboy magazine. As the New York Daily News puts it: “Her obsession with getting everything off her chest continues.”
They both show guys hitting on each other
The never-aired segment of “The Jenny Jones Show” that allegedly prompted a guest to murder a male friend who confessed he had a crush on him will be broadcast on Court TV if it’s played during the trial. Said Court TV’s Steve Brill: “When they showed the Rodney King beating tape (in court), we aired that. This would be similar.”
Guess the pen isn’t mightier than the sordid
Mary Jo Buttafuoco, who was shot by husband Joey’s teen lover, Amy Fisher, is shopping a book proposal titled “Unconquerable Will,” billed as “the story of a near-murder, an out-of-control media and a corrupt judicial system, and how one woman and her family survived it all.”
