Personal Baggage Clogs Cbs’ ‘Ez Streets’

Faye Zuckerman New York Times Syndicate

Sunday at 9 CBS rolls out the two-hour-long pilot to “EZ Streets” (1996), a crime drama that will air weekly Wednesdays at 10. “Streets” more than resembles “Wise Guy” with its dark lighting and story about a police officer who goes undercover. Ken Olin steps into the role of the brooding law enforcer determined to prove that his dead partner was a good cop. Olin plays detective Cameron Quinn, who becomes involved with a gangster (Joe Pantoliano), the gangster’s girlfriend (Debrah Farentino) and an ex-con played by Jason Gedrick.

“Streets” is moody and melodramatic. It focuses too much on the main characters’ baggage, and they each are carrying around a lot of it.
