Henry Burris passed for 284 yards and two touchdowns as Temple, which hasn’t won more than two games in a season since 1990, opened the season with a 28-24 victory over Eastern Michigan.

The Owls of the Big East Conference needed a 6-yard scoring pass from Burris to Wendell Davis with 6:51 left to pull out the victory.

Temple plays host to WSU Saturday at 3 p.m. Pacific time.
