Then Again, Supermodels Aren’t Always So Difficult

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Well, excuse us. It seems that news of an Oasis breakup may be slightly exaggerated.

Lead Singer Liam Gallagher, who missed the first part of the English rock band’s three-week American tour, left London Thursday to join his brother, Noel Gallagher, and fellow bandmates.

Gallagher’s absence, during which Noel filled in for him (to rave reviews), was blamed on his need to take care of “a personal matter” involving his live-in girlfriend, actress Patsy Kensit, and the lapsed lease on their apartment.

And on Thursday, Gallagher was in no mood to answer reporters’ questions.

“I hate you lot,” he said with a profane adjective or two. “You’re always asking me too many things. I’m not a supermodel, you know.”

Loose talk

Victoria Principal on the art of smoking (in InStyle magazine): “I smoked from age 19 to 32 and then quit cold turkey one day because it just disgusted me. Anybody who comes over to the house and smokes has to go back outside on the sidewalk.”

She’s so so glad she’s no longer working for Bill Bill

Dee Dee Meyers turns 35 today.

Maybe we should assign Scully to the case

Now that TV Guide is reporting it, there seems to be some truth to the rumor that “The X-Files” star David Duchovny and movie star Winona Ryder are an item. “I’m happy, and I’m in love,” said Duchovny, but adding, “I can’t really talk about who it is because it’s my personal life. I don’t want to do that.”

You know what they say, abusers will be abusers

Actor Jan-Michael Vincent, 52, was involved in a car accident, is still in the hospital with serious injuries and is being investigated for DUI. Now Vincent’s ex-girlfriend says she still wants him. “I love him,” Lisa Marie Chiafullo told USA Today, “but he has to show me he can stay clean and sober.” Chiafullo won a $400,000 judgment against Vincent after he kicked her in the stomach, causing her to suffer a miscarriage.

And, of course, she drinks French Roast by the gallon

Martha Stewart accomplishes so much (with the aide of more paid assistants than Santa Claus) because she seldom sleeps more than four hours a night. “I can sleep in the car,” she says. “But I think while I nap, so it’s not a waste of time.”

Oh, then will she be auditioning for ‘Jaws 6’?

British actress Minnie Driver (“Circle of Friends”) has a realistic view of the film industry. “You get the sense that Hollywood will chew you up and could spit you out,” she told Esquire magazine. “But you’re still asking to be eaten.”

Seems the contract was written in erasable ink

So, OK, CBS is NOT removing the Ted Danson-Mary Steenburgen sitcom “Ink” from its fall lineup. The network is, however, moving its premiere back from Sept. 16 to Oct. 14. Observers report that the second episode is “much funnier” than the pilot.
