Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My husband is very creative and organized. The best hint I ever received came from him.

He would get home before I finished cleaning the house, so it seemed I never quite got to the master bedroom. He suggested that I always start there. It really works. When I get tired and am tempted to slow down or quit, I don’t because I’m in the guest areas of the house and I would never leave those areas unfinished. We have never had to close the bedrooms off when we have guests.

That was 30 years ago and we have frequently been complimented on keeping such a tidy house … and under my breath, I always think, “Thanks, honey, for a great hint.” - Rene Olson, Citrus Heights, Calif.

P.S. Also, now that it’s just the two of us at home and we both work full time, we clean house on Thursday evening so we have weekends for each other and entertaining.
