Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I place a large plastic tablecloth on the floor of my car trunk so the carpeting is always covered and remains clean and like new. When it is time to trade the car, remove the plastic cloth and the floor covering is in excellent condition.

I use cartons to hold windshield washer, scrapers, clothes, etc. and empty these out regularly so they remain neat all seasons. - Dorothy L. Knorr, Queensbury, N.Y.

Dear Heloise: A cooking hint I have used for years is to cook a turkey and place the cut-up meat, in 2-1/2-cup amounts, in freezer bags and freeze.

I can use the meat in soups, casseroles, sauces, main dishes, etc., and supper is ready in less than an hour. I don’t have to cook a chicken to get the precooked meat.

It saves a lot of time! - Jennifer Dickinson, Greenfield, Ind.
