Wwp Hires Pace For Economic Studies

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Washington Water Power Co. has hired The Pace Group to study the economic development needs of the communities it serves, as well as the in-house programs intended to meet them.

Pace, based in Tupelo, Miss., last year completed a similar study for Momentum, the private group promoting development efforts in Spokane.

The new report is expected in October.

Ellie Chambers, one of WWP’s three economic development specialists, said the utility hopes to supplement the efforts - often volunteer - of communities that have few resources to do promotional work on their own.

WWP will also look at the programs offered by other utilities considered leaders in economic development. , DataTimes
