Robert ‘Gordon’ Goodyear Spokane
Memorial service for Robert “Gordon” Goodyear, 87, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maplewood Gardens. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North in charge of cremation.
Passed away September 18, 1996. He was born in Joliette, N.D.
He moved to Spokane in 1979 from North Dakota, where his family operated a wheat farm.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a brother, Walter Goodyear.

Donald Martin Spokane
Memorial service for Donald H. Martin, 79, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mr. Martin, who died Sept. 4, was born in Great Falls, Mont.
He moved to Spokane with his family, when he was seven. He graduated from North Central High School and attended Kinman Business College and Gonzaga University.
He worked at the Washington Water Power Co. from 1939 to 1977, except for four years while he served in the Army. He later retired from WWP and retired as a major from the Army Reserves.
He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
His wife, Berniece Martin, died in 1993.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Martin of Pueblo, Colo., and Calvin Martin of Spokane; a stepson, Greg Fury of Colbert; a stepdaughter, Sara Fury of Issaquah, Wash., and three grandsons.

James Kile Medical Lake
Memorial service for James Walter Kile, 76, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30, at Lake City Assembly of God Church in Medical Lake. Private inurnment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kile, who died Thursday, was born Redfield, S.D.
He was a 30-year area resident and worked as an auto body and fender man in Medical Lake.
He was a member of Lake City Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor Kile; a son, James Kile of Edwall, Wash.; a brother and a sister, and two grandchildren.
Nickie (Young) Costello Spokane
Memorial service for Nickie (Young) Costello, 77, is planned for 2:30 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Casey’s Restaurant. Private inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho.
Mrs. Costello who was born in Priest River, died Wednesday.
She graduated from North Central High School.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Esmeralda Golf Club and the Civil Air Patrol as a major.
She and her husband, Joe Costello, ran a lodge at Diamond Lake for several years. Her husband died in 1979.
Later her son, Lance, ran the same business. He preceded her in death 2 years ago.
She is survived by a son, Ben Costello of Spokane; a daughter, Lisa Kilian of Spokane; a brother, John Young of Spokane; a sister, Val Dailey of Priest River; and four grandchildren.
Cecilia Abrahamson Ford, Wash.
Vigil for Cecilia Abrahamson, 85, was Sunday at Spokane Tribal Longhouse in Wellpinit, Wash. Service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Longhouse. Burial will be at Wellpinit Cemetery. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Abrahamson died Wednesday.
She was born in Worley, Idaho.
She was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe of Indians and served as a council woman.
She was also a member of the Catholic Church, the Wha-La Club in Worley, and the Spokane Tribe Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Magnus Abrahamson, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Pauline Stearns of Wellpinit; 24 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Arthur Haroldson Woodland, Calif.
Graveside service for Arthur W. Haroldson, a former Spokane resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at Monument Hill Cemetery in Woodland. McNary’s Chapel in Woodland, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Haroldson died Wednesday. He was born in Coeur d’Alene.
He graduated from North Central High School and attended Gonzaga University for two years.
He moved to California in 1961.
He served in the Air Force during World War II and retired in 1967.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Sherr of Miami and Georgia Rye of Woodland; a son, Roger Haroldson of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Dolores Parsons of Coeur d’Alene, Marjorie Finley of Spokane, and Priscilla Hanenburg of Fort Worth, Texas, four grandchildren.

Otto Rudolph Nielson Spokane
Visitation for Otto Rudolph Nielson, 94, is scheduled from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan, Wash. Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church in Reardan, Wash. Burial will be at Reardan Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nielson, who was born near Deer Lodge, Mont., on his parent’s homestead, died Wednesday.
He moved from Montana, to the Reardan, area in 1916.
In 1924, he married Esther Walton. The couple started farming north of Mondovi, Wash. In 1930, they retuned to his parent’s farm, which they rented and later bought.
They leased that farm to their daughter and son-in-law in 1948, and moved into Reardan. In 1980, they moved to Spokane.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Reardan, a charter and gold star member of the Mondovi Grange, a member of the National Grange, former director of Windy Hill School, former member and director of the Reardan Fire District, former Reardan City Councilman and Chairman of Reardan Community Days Celebration (Mule Days).
His wife died in 1986.
Mr. Nielson is survived by a daughter, Helen “Margie” Rosenlund of Spokane; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
