Rainbow Fingerlings Put In Spokane River

About 50,000 rainbow fingerlings were released into the Spokane River Saturday by Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club members and Fish and Wildlife Department officials.

The trout were loaded into a big raft at various places below the Monroe Street bridge and then ladled out to places where they may have a good chance of surviving.

The club and the department released young trout into the river last year.

Plans are to continue releasing fish until a trout population is built up in the river. , DataTimes
