The youths, who were selected from 21 applicants, are as follows: Courtney Ade, Christena Wood, Amber Isaacson and Dustin Cox, all of Coeur d’Alene High School; Tiffany Plamer, Melissa Davisson and Daniel Hutchins, all of Lake City High School.
The seminar includes topics in communications and cooperatives.
University of Idaho students Matt Frank, senior, and Will Cromer, graduate student, were among six mechanical engineering students which made up the “street stock” electric car team that placed third recently at the annual APS Electrics races for high school and university electric vehicles held in Arizona.
They used a 1985 Camaro that was rewired and converted to electric power using 28 lead-acid batteries generated by 134 horsepower with 100 kilowatts of power.
