Suspects Sought In Reported Rape

Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies are looking for two men who allegedly held a Coeur d’Alene woman at gunpoint and raped her.

The 27-year-old woman told authorities that she was walking in the area of downtown Coeur d’Alene early Saturday when the two men offered her a ride in their van.

She accepted their ride, but when she asked to be dropped off they threatened her with a gun and kept driving, said sheriff’s Lt. Nile Shirley.

“In her fear for her life, she decided to cooperate with them,” Shirley said.

The men drove east on Interstate 90 before pulling off the road and raping and sodomizing the woman, Shirley said. They then took her back to Coeur d’Alene and dropped her off, she told deputies.

The men are described as white and in their 20s. One is about 5 feet 10 inches, 175 pounds with brown hair and eyes. The other is about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

They were driving a white Volkswagen van, possibly with Washington license plates.
