Cargill Inc. To Sell Wheat To North Korea
Cargill Inc. has signed an agreement to sell an undisclosed amount of wheat to North Korea, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The commodities-trading giant did not disclose the financial terms of the sale to communist North Korea, which has been suffering from severe food shortages.
The company received a license last December from the Treasury Department authorizing it to sell up to 500,000 metric tons of wheat or rice, a Cargill spokesman said.
