Police Question Bank Robbery Suspect

A North Side bank was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon, and police were questioning a suspect about an hour later.

The U.S. Bank at 902 W. Garland was robbed about 3:15 p.m. The robber was described as a man in his late 30s or early 40s wearing a green Army jacket.

Police said the man walked into the bank and showed a handgun. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white car, according to witnesses.

The suspect was spotted later at NorthTown Mall and detained for questioning, police spokesman Dick Cottam said. , DataTimes
